A star bright appearance. Powerful fruit aromas and ‘its taste was as good as the smell’. A wine with some complex flavours and a long finish. Yalumba are demonstrating consistency in their wine making, especially with the difficulties posed by this grape.
'Enjoying Viognier' (2001 vintage)

Light gold in color, this wine has a restrained nose of apple blossoms and minerals along with peach and citrus nuances. Medium to full bodied, it delivers plenty of creamy, peach, and sweet apricot flavors. The wine is well structured with good acidity for food. It has a good finish with a sweet, dried-apricot finish. Although not at all complex, its attraction lies in its simplicity. This wine went well with the fish and would probably go just as well with a mildly spicy curry. You might also serve it as an aperitif.

Creamy, oaky nose
Initial fizziness, moving on the tongue, envigorating.
Chewy apricot with some bitterness, wonderful balance (roundish flavour not over the top)
Reasonable aftertaste, soft warm feel

Yalumba was one of the first wineries to grow and produce Viognier and their experience shines through in this wine, which has a nose and palate of citrus, lychee and orange blossom.

A very fragrant Viognier with great wafts if peach and melon fruits. Dry with balanced acidity, strong peach flavours and some spice. Great value.
